Please tell me how to create stroke paths which are two different colours like it says on the tutorial





every time i try, all i get is the whole flower petal path being one colour and so the blend tool doesn't work!

i think you get confuse on create a path with 2 colors


ok try this


1st draw the curve for one side (*like left ...(....bracket *) with red color


and take a copy (ctrl+c)


place it on front (ctrl+F)


change the color to green


now right click %26gt; transform %26gt; reflect %26gt; ok


move the green to right side slowly as much


now you can see both red %26amp; blue color curves like ()


select the both curves


go to object menu %26gt; blend %26gt; blend option %26gt; select specified steps %26gt; give the value 10 %26gt; click ok


now again go to object menu %26gt; blend %26gt; make


that it enzoy.....

So I have been using Photoshop for about a year now and I use it for making forum signatures, userbars, banners and all that good stuff. i am really starting to get in to designing where I actually want to do it at a professional level. While the gradient and mask tools are always nice, the pen tutorials seem to be few and further between. It would be nice to see some tutorials on things other than changing the colors of cars, hair and removing blemishes.

It depends on what you're trying to do. Fashion illustration isn't technically different from any other kind of digital illustration. You either draw the image first with pencil/paper and import it into Photoshop, or you do the whole thing digitally in photoshop using your wacom tablet. What you need to find are tutorials on digital art period, and many can be found through google or www.conceptart.org/forums

Are there any tutorials for making clothes patterns in Illustrator?

Recently, I've been messing around with sewing some non-clothes items on the sewing machine mostly by eying and rough measuring. However, I'd like to be able to reproduce these items with more exactness, so am trying to figure out how to make printable patterns.





I have and am somewhat adept at Adobe Illustrator. Has anyone used that for making patterns before or know of a free program that would be better?

I have used Illustrator for 20 years and its a great program. You can take your drawing and scan it and save it as a pdf or eps import into illustrator then trace it their then you can re find it. Find a good output house that can make it large call them and find out if you have to work 1.2 scale or what. Illustrator has a max size for the page but will blow up to the side of a building. Then they can output the file for you. You can test it by doing the overlaps on smaller papers and taping the papers together. Since Illustrator creates a vector base file you can do about anything with it. I make banners and sides of cars. With mine.





You can test in a smaller size then out put to the size you want.

Adobe Illustrator vector tutorials?

I wanted to learn vectoring through Illustrator cs2.


But I can't get even a half decent tutorial I don't like to use Photoshop for it because ill probably end up making vexels.

Your best bet is to use Corel Graphic Suite or if you have Photo-shop, then convert your work or save it as vector.

Take advise from a professional, take a course there are things you need to know about setting up files for print, what the settings are, layouts, creating everything and anything.

I see simple mistakes everywhere I look which could have been easily avoided.





If you don't know what a ppd is you may end up paying for it later.





Saying all that the best way to get really good at illustrator is to see what each thing does and think about how you can apply it to your art.





The best way to get fast is to learn the keyboard short cuts use you right hand for the mouse and your left on the keyboard. use all of them not just the ones in the file menus.


ie. press ';v'; to get the select tool ';a'; to get the direct select tool ';m'; for a square and so on.

Just wondered where there was a site which I could learn to realistically render architecture and architectural spaces ( interiors and such) I am an architecture major and am working on my portfolio but Have not yet taken the computer classes. I believe you'd be more along the lines of AutoCAD software when it comes to architecture and drafting, but I'm not too sure.

Illustrator CS......... is CAD ready, and there are many step by step tutorials on the CAD sites using Illustrator
I am an architecture student as well. I use Autodesk Revit and sketchup. Its better to use a 3d program cause elements of your design can be quickly edited. If you use a 2d program it will set you back a long way and you will also have to think about camera angles, etc. For something quick to learn try sketchup, then use a vray plug-in for sketchup that can render photo-realistic. Revit can render well, but not as good as v-ray. Hope this helps. I was in the same situation.
